Chelsea travel to Manchester City on Saturday in the Premier League’s early kick-off as the top two go head-to-head.

However, there is already a 10-point gap between the two, so things aren’t as close as they seem, and should Chelsea fall to defeat at the Etihad Stadium, the title race will be all but over if it isn’t already.

Pep Guardiola’s side are currently on an 11-match winning streak in the league and don’t show any signs of slowing down, even with Chelsea coming to town.

Even a draw here for Guardiola’s men wouldn’t really change much, but they know they’ll practically already have one hand on the trophy, in January, should they collect all three points on Saturday.

Chelsea are on a high following their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at Tottenham in midweek, while City haven’t played since their FA Cup victory at Swindon last Friday.

Team news

Pep Guardiola could be missing six players for the visit of Chelsea on Saturday, although there is hope that John Stones (knock) could make a potential return in defence.

Phil Foden and Oleksandr Zinchenko ( Covid-19 ) could once again miss out here, but Liam Delap (ankle), Riyad Mahrez (Africa Cup of Nations) and Ben Mendy (suspended) are all out.

Things are better for Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, however, as he could be without just four of his players for this huge contest.

Trevoh Chalobah (hamstring), Reece James (hamstring) and Ben Chilwell (ACL) are all injured, while Edouard Mendy is another player currently away at AFCON where he is representing Senegal.
