Thirty-five years after it changed cinema forever, Aliens is still finding new ways to remain a part of our pop culture consciousness. From incredible fan art to must-have collectibles, James Cameron’s sci-fi action film is a timeless source of inspiration. Now it’s partnering with another timeless pop culture favorite. You’ll be able to battle Xenomorphs with Hasbro’s new Nerf Aliens M41A Pulse Blaster.
Nerf has announced its new contribution to the iconic film’s 35th anniversary celebration. The Nerf LMTD Aliens M41A Pulse Blaster is a much safer, dart-shooting version of the weapon seen in the film. The detailed replica is based on the gun the United States Colonial Marine Corps used in the movie. It didn’t help them very much on LV-426. But it should make playtime a lot more enjoyable. (Assuming no actual space monsters show up. Not even ones made from foam.) From Hasbro:
“The Nerf LMTD Aliens M4A1 Pulse Blaster launches 2 different kinds of darts so you can adapt your battle strategy against the terrifying Xenomorphs. Fast-blast 10 Elite darts in a row from this fully motorized blaster or launch a Nerf Mega dart with pump-action blasting. Keep an eye on the LCD counter to track how many darts are left in the clip, so you’ll know when it’s time to reload. The M41A Pulse Blaster includes a removable 10-dart Elite dart clip, 10 Nerf Elite foam darts, and 4 Nerf Mega foam darts. “
Like with all Nerf guns, Hasbro recommends wearing eyewear when shooting darts. However, it is not included. Neither are the four 1.5v C alkaline batteries needed for the toy. It does come in some fantastic packaging though. When not using this pulse blaster you can display it.
You can pre-order the Nerf LMTD Aliens M41A Pulse Blaster at GameStop and Hasbro Pulse in the US. And at EB Games in Canada. The only downside is that it doesn’t ship until October 1, 2022. (But if that’s the worst thing about a toy based on a weapon used to fight terrifying space monsters, that’s a pretty good ending to this Aliens story.)
Like Nerf, Aliens has been a part of the pop culture world for a long time. And it will be for a lot longer. So at least it won’t be weird when we’re still shooting darts 35 years from now.
