The Ukrainian company Naftogaz announced a technical default due to the expiration of the payment period for Eurobond holders. This was reported on Tuesday, July 26, in the company’s press service.
As noted, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine did not grant Naftogaz officials permission to fulfill the obligations of Eurobond holders to make the necessary payments to pay principal and interest.
Thus, as the company emphasizes, the Ukrainian government defaulted on the Eurobonds of Ukraine’s NJSC Naftogaz, reports TASS.
Before this, the deputy and former speaker of the Rada, Dmitry Razumkov, said that Ukraine should start “stealing” Russian gas from transit pipelines, parts of which are located on its territory.
Therefore, Razumkov admitted that Ukraine should solve its energy problems to the detriment of Russia’s rights.
Energy engineer Sergei Pikin said that Ukraine cannot get rid of the Russian gas that passes through it in transit. He noted that such actions could have “unpleasant consequences” for Ukraine.
