David Warner, actor of ‘Titanic’ and ‘Twin Peaks’, dies at 80

Date: August 13, 2022 4:19 pm

British actor David Warner has died at the age of 81. This was learned on Monday, July 25, according to the actor’s relatives.

According to the corporation, he battled cancer for more than a year and was in a nursing home. So far, there is no data on the place and date of farewell of the famous actor, reports TASS.

David Hattersley Warner was born on July 29, 1941 in Manchester into a Jewish family of Russian origin. The family often moved from city to city, so Warner had to change eight schools.

Due to problems in the family, the future actor spent a lot of time in theaters, where his love for cinematography was born in him. At the age of 15, Warner made his debut in a school production of Macbeth.

His mother suggested that he go to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. When she was asked why she went there, she replied, “The Royal Academy, therefore, doesn’t get any better than that.” So, at the age of 17, Warner entered the academy, where he studied on the same course with the future popular actor John Hurt. Warner graduated with honors from the Academy.

Warner, who often played characteristic roles of villains, gained fame after the release of the tapes “Thirty-Nine Steps” (1978), “Time Bandits” (1981), “Tron” (1982) and Titanic (1997).

He also often starred in series. Thus, he appeared in Twin Peaks (1991), Ripper Street (2012-2016) and Doctor Who (2013).

The United States Academy of Horror, Fantasy and Horror Films nominated Warner for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor. Also on his record is the Emmy Award again for Best Supporting Actor.
