The governments of Canada and Germany continue to hold talks to overcome the consequences of the Ottawa decision on turbines for the Nord Stream gas pipeline. This was announced by the Canadian Minister of Natural Resources, Jonathan Wilkinson, on Wednesday, June 11.

“We are negotiating with Germany, trying to find a way in which we can secure the gas supply. There are different options that we can consider,” he said.

The Minister added that Canada does not intend to harm Germany. According to him, Germany is one of Ottawa’s closest and most important friends. In this sense, the Canadian government is very concerned about the situation of the turbines, reports RIA Novosti.

Before that, it became known that the Canadian authorities were negotiating with Berlin on equipment for the Nord Stream gas pipeline. It is currently under repair in the North American country.

On June 16, the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, during a session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), said that the Nord Stream 2 pipeline was ready to start supplying gas to Europe right now.
